Continental Extreme Contact DSW06 plus

Continental’s Max Performance Summer tire, the ExtremeContact Sport, was designed for drivers of sports cars, performance sedans, and powerful luxury vehicles who want to combine serious performance in the dry and wet with a refined ride and noise comfort. The ExtremeContact Sport, like all summer tires, should not be serviced, stored, or driven in near-freezing or below-freezing temperatures, through snow, or on ice.

The ExtremeContact Sport features Continental’s SportPlus Technology, which focuses on delivering precise handling, wet traction, and enhanced wear for well-rounded maximum performance by utilizing a specialized summer-only compound molded into a five-rib (six-rib in some sizes) asymmetric design.

The outside shoulder has wide tread blocks for lateral grip and high-speed handling, and the continuous center rib provides constant rubber-to-road contact for a solid on-center feel, while an optimized footprint distributes pressure evenly across the face of the tire for longer tread life.

Continental’s patented +Silane tread compound technology provides the grip required for sure-footed handling in wet conditions and the deep, circumferential grooves allow water to flow directly through the contact patch, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Quickview Performance Indicators molded into the tread pattern provide instant visibility of the tire’s suitability for use in both dry and wet conditions.

The ExtremeContact Sport’s internal architecture includes of a polyester or rayon cord body casing (depending on size) and two-ply sidewall construction to improve sidewall rigidity without sacrificing ride comfort. Two high-tensile steel belts are supported by the casing ply, and two spirally wrapped polyamide cap plies reinforce the structure for high-speed capability.

NOTE: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 degrees Celsius) or lower must be allowed to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) for at least 24 hours before being flexed in any way, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll, or drive a vehicle.
